Education
Born and raised in the valley, I am a graduate of the Science Academy of South Texas (public magnet high-school). I attended STCC for two years back in 1997 and 1998. As of Spring 2003 I have completed my undergraduate degree at UTPA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I am continuing my studies in the graduate program at UTPA; working towards a Masters of Fine Arts.

Work Ethic
I am honest and diligent. I work great under pressure and am highly motivated at finishing the task at hand. A flexible working schedule and my ability to adapt to any working environment combine to give me a positive attitude towards any job or project, regardless of its size or complexity.

I work for The University Art Galleries, which has been thus far a great learning experience.

I was hired during the summer to help out during the transition of Gallery Directors. So for a month and a half I took on the responsibilities of keeping the Galleries operational.

Writers in Literary Discussion (AKA W.I.L.D.)
(Spring and Summer 1998)
This is an on campus club at South Texas Community College that puts out a publication every semester. I did most of the artwork for the spring and summer ’98 issues. The summer ’98 issue had 100% original artwork. I did both covers and an alternate for the summer issue.

STCC Student Art Show
(Fall 1999)
This was the first student art show held at South Texas Community College and comprised of students’ drawings and prints. The prints I submitted were “El Batman”, “Skull”, and an untitled installation piece.

STCC First Annual Painting and Print Show
(Summer 1999)
South Texas Community College is again the setting for this show. My participation included two paintings, an untitled piece and a self-portrait done in impasto, several prints, two different versions of “This is the end suckers!” and an untitled word, and finally another installation piece.

Helped set up Graphic Design art show in the Clark Gallery and the University Library at the University of Texas Pan-American.

I was in two shows at the University of Texas Pan-American. All of my artwork came from my Computer Graphics class, where I honed my skills in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop on a Mac. It was a great experience being able to work and show artwork amongst peers and faculty; it gave a good sense of community.

Located in the University Gallery-COAS building. Opening reception Wednesday May 9th 7-9 PM. This show included 8 of my pieces; 4 oil paintings and 4 mixed media drawings.  All artwork that was in this show was part of my Flags and Icon series. The title of the show was “Palette Diaries – B.F.A. Studio” and was located in the University Gallery.

Commissioned by The University of Texas Pan-American For a Mural
(June 2002)
The Dean of Students commissioned myself and Lisa Carlisle to paint a “Mural Project” for their 75th Anniversary.  The “Mural Project” was a 6” x 8” painting located on the second floor of the University Center.

I had three works in this show.

This show contained over 30 pieces. This show was a great learning experience and my first one man show.

University of Texas – Pan American 33rd Annual Juried Student Art Show
(May 8th – August 27th, 2003)
Located in the University Gallery – COAS building. Opening reception May 8th 7 – 9PM. I received the John Marin Prize for Water Media on Paper, for the piece “Tracker” and I also received an Honorable Mention for the piece “Price of Freedom”.

 Skills:
Proficient with concepts of art, color and design.
Building computers and setting up small LANs are also a part of my repertoire.
Proficient with various computer software, including, but not limited to: MS Office, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Corel Draw,  Corel Paint, Microsoft OS. I am also familiar with most Mac OS and software.
HTML and programming experience includes: HTML Programming / Editing, MS Front Page, Dream Weaver, Flash.
People Skills: Working in the hotel industry has brought out great social skills.  I work well with people (both customers and co-workers) and enjoy being part of a team.
